14 Referees Face Suspension by NFF for Poor Performance
The Nigeria Football Federation’s referees committee has taken action by suspending 14 referees due to their subpar performance. This decision was communicated through an official statement issued on Monday.
The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has witnessed a series of questionable decisions made by referees throughout this season. The most recent incident was Imamu Maliki’s controversial ruling, disallowing a seemingly valid goal scored by Remo Stars against Bendel Insurance at Benin City’s Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium on Sunday.
These suspended referees will remain on hold pending a thorough investigation into their officiating. The committee also expressed its desire for complete game videos to be provided to facilitate a comprehensive evaluation of the referees’ performances.
