Around 100 households in the communities of Anguwan Rogo, Rikkos, Bauchi Road, and Naraguta, located in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State, were forced to evacuate their homes due to flooding caused by a heavy downpour over the weekend from Saturday to Sunday.
According to Tanko Yakubu Alhassan, a resident of Bauchi Road, “The flood, though not fatal, resulted in the displacement of more than 150 households due to its magnitude. The affected families are currently seeking refuge with friends, relatives, or neighbors.”
Salamatu Aliyu, one of the flood victims, lamented, “We were completely unprepared for this. The intense rain has wreaked havoc on my home and those of my neighbors, as well as numerous other residences in Anguwan Rogo. We appeal to the government and kind-hearted individuals to come to our aid.”
