2023 Era of election rigging over – INEC. The Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC, has vowed to preserve Nigerians’ right to vote in the next general elections, declaring that the days of blatant election result tampering are ended.

At the introduction of Yiaga Africa’s Election Result Analysis Dashboard, or ERAD, Report on Electronic Transmission of Results in the 2022 Ekiti and Osun Governorship Election in Abuja on Friday, INEC Chairman Prof. Mahmood Yakubu made the commitment.

Mahmood said that INEC has put in a lot of effort to promote transparency and boost Nigerians’ trust in the handling of election results.

“I can state with certainty that the era of willful manipulation of election outcomes is ended.

“We will make sure that Nigerians’ votes are preserved and the only factor in determining who gets to hold office in our democracy,” he said.

He continued by saying that the commission will be using significantly more ad hoc workers than both the police and the military combined for the general election in 2023.
