Abuja Airport Closed Due to Runway Incident
The Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja is currently closed temporarily due to an incident involving an Aerocontractors aircraft that became stuck on the runway.
Dr. James Odaudu, the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB), confirmed this development in a statement issued on Sunday. The statement explained that a Lagos-Abuja flight operated by Aerocontractors landed at the airport but, while attempting to exit the runway, became stuck in the grass verge.
This incident, involving the Boeing 733 with the Nationality and Registration Marks 5N-BYQ, occurred on Sunday morning.
