Akwa Ibom PDP reconciliation committee submits report, begs aggrieved members. The findings from the PDP’s post-primary reconciliation committee in Akwa Ibom State have been sent to the state party secretariat.

According to DAILY POST, the party established an 11-person Reconciliation Committee following the primaries, led by Senator Effiong Bob, with the goal of bringing enraged party members back together.

While presenting the report to the party, the committee’s chair The committee’s chairman, Aniekan Akpan, indicated that all categories of candidates who participated in the party’s recently finished nomination processes had received letters asking them to appear before the committee for talks and debate.

The great importance we place on all categories of our members has always been one of the guiding principles and enduring tactics of our Party, the PDP, said Senator Bob. You have sternly instructed this committee, sir, that every kind of person who appears before the committee must be given a fair hearing.

“We had gone out to everyone, from aspirants and candidates for State House of Assembly seats up to the Gubernatorial candidate and aspirants. Even more, we had to conduct a Zoom meeting to invite candidates from outside the State and the nation to join the committee.

I am here to report to you on behalf of the committee that we meticulously listened to all of the problems presented to us by distinguished members of our party who honored our invitation to testify before the committee.

Bob also made the implication that both those who ultimately became candidates and those who did not were brought together to engage in a rich and robust dialogue with a view to forging new bonds, making efforts to harmonize interests, and pointing them out to the variety of opportunities and possibilities that working together as a team could open up for everyone prior to the elections.

According to him, the Committee believes that if the Report’s recommendations were fully carried out, it would significantly strengthen the party’s roots in Akwa Ibom, keep members unified, and extend the PDP’s winning streaks in the State.

According to the Committee’s conclusions, the PDP in Akwa Ibom State remained intact and robust, and Senator Bob commended the party for entrusting them with the duty of leading the reconciliation efforts.

After receiving the report, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Aniekan Akpan, the state party chairman, praised them for the diligence and effort they had put into handling the task the party had given them. He also gave them the assurance that the party would take the time to study the recommendations in the report with a view to swiftly implementing them in the interest of enduring peace, unity, progress, and success.

“You did a good job, and I applaud you. I have been keeping up with the committee’s work, and it was really encouraging to see how dedicated you all were to attending the several meetings you conducted. On several instances, you got up from your seat beyond 7 o’clock. It is evident from your collective effort that you all treated this important task with the attention it merited. The PDP in Akwa Ibom State owes you a debt of appreciation for your commitment and labor of love, he remarked.

Hon. Imo Ibokette, Ambassador Assam Assam, Sen. Aloysius Etok, Barr. Uwem Ekanem, Sen. Emmanuel Ibokessien, Rt. Hon. (Dr) Ekaette Ebong Okon, Sir Michael Essang, Rt. Hon. Udo Kierian Akpan, Prof. Imaobong Akpan, and Mr. Okon Okon are among the members who also sat on the committee.
