Armed Assailants Assault Vote Buyers, Stealing Over N1.5 Million in Imo
Unidentified assailants, believed to be gunmen, raided polling units situated at All Saints Anglican Cathedral, where they targeted vote buyers and made away with a sum exceeding N1.5 million.
The assailants, numbering over 10, forcefully seized the money being distributed to voters across the four polling units located within the cathedral premises. Witnesses reported that the gunmen arrived, initiating sporadic gunfire, and proceeded to rob the three individuals distributing the funds.
Amid the ongoing shooting, several police officers stationed at the location fled, and INEC officials present at the scene took cover as the gunmen executed their attack.
