Michael Owen, a former striker for Liverpool and Manchester United, believes that Arsenal is among the strongest contenders for the Premier League championship this year. After Arsenal defeated Liverpool 3-2 in a Premier League match on Sunday, Owen made this statement.
He asserts that he finds it hard to believe that Arsenal would be in first place after nine games in the Premier League and that their recent success is not a coincidence.
After defeating Liverpool over the weekend, Arsenal now leads Manchester City by one point in the Premier League standings.
“I never imagined saying this, but I do. the state they’re in. There is currently no coincidence involved. They have several really talented players. They are performing pretty well right now. The team has confidence, and the club has confidence,” Owen told Premier League Productions.
“Some of the primary protagonists are currently having difficulties. So, yeah, I do believe they might provide the biggest threat to winning the Premier League. I never imagined me saying it. I’m in disbelief.
