EPL Petit details Saliba's error in the most recent victory for Arsenal

EPL Petit details Saliba’s error in the most recent victory for Arsenal. According to Arsenal icon Emmanuel Petit, during their 3-2 Premier League victory against Liverpool on Sunday, defender William Saliba struggled to control his ‘nervous’ defensive partner Gabriel Magalhaes.

The Gunners’ most recent victory, their eighth in nine games this season, allowed them to retake the top place in the Premier League standings.

Gabriel, who conceded a penalty in last week’s game against Tottenham, had another challenging day against Liverpool.

The first-half goal scored by Darwin Nunez for Jurgen Klopp’s team was primarily the fault of the Brazilian.

Petit, who praised the rest of Arsenal’s defense, thinks Saliba ought to have managed his teammate more effectively.

According to Petit, who spoke to Genting Casino, “I thought Gabriel seemed uncomfortable and if I were Saliba, I’d have gone to him right away and instructed him not to touch the ball, let it bounce, and allow our guys come back in defense.”

“He allowed this to happen yesterday. If you have a 50/50 chance of retrieving the ball, you run the risk of it being played in a hazardous place.”

Darwin Nunez’s equalizer was attributed to the Brazil international, and he added that Gabriel’s placement was frequently insufficient during the game.

He pointed out that, in contrast to his excellent defensive teammates Ben White and Saliba, the Brazilian is not entirely sure in himself.
