EPL You’re making right pig’s ear of it – Peter Crouch slams Chelsea new signing. Peter Crouch, a former striker for Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, has criticized Chelsea defender Kalidou Koulibaly for his underwhelming play after assuming John Terry’s legendary No. 26 jersey.
On That Peter Crouch Podcast, Terry had mentioned retiring jersey numbers.
This summer, Koulibaly moved from Napoli to Chelsea for a cost of £34 million.
The former England center-back, who is now 31 years old, requested Terry’s No. 26 jersey, which he worn for a considerable period of time until departing Stamford Bridge in 2017.
Terry gave Koulibaly permission to wear the shirt, but no other Chelsea player wore it.
Crouch responded, as reported by the Daily Star, when asked what he thought of the situation: “For John Terry at Chelsea, it probably deserves it.
It is obvious that Koulibaly entered and said, “Can I take the 26?” JT [Terry] is definitely retired, as you are aware. He entered, seized it, and is now making a complete pig’s ear of it, isn’t he?
In a 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur on August 14, Koulibaly scored on his debut for Chelsea, giving the west London team a wonderful start.
The Senegalese international, though, swiftly lost his form and started to appear untrustworthy at the back.
