Furious members of the NLC stage a lockdown at the Abuja Airport, leaving numerous people stranded.

Photographs have surfaced, revealing the aftermath of the lockdown imposed on the airport in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja, by disgruntled members of the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC.

These union members voiced their dissatisfaction with the handling of national affairs and their welfare by the federal government, led by President Bola Tinubu. Among their concerns regarding welfare, they demanded the reversal of the fuel subsidy removal and the reconsideration of other policies causing hardships for Nigerians.

Regrettably, their pleas were ignored. Their request included the restoration of the fuel subsidy, collaborative negotiations with the government, and the implementation of measures to alleviate its impact before removal. However, the federal government did not heed these demands.

The NLC members were further incensed by the reported brutalization of their National President, Joe Ajaero, and colleagues in Imo State by thugs and security agents allegedly working in collusion with Governor Hope Uzodinma. The NLC leadership plans to address the media to provide immediate reasons for their decision to lock down the Abuja airport.
