This comes weeks after the renowned Anambra-based clergyman, Chukwuemeka Odumeje, sparked online reactions with a clip of his recent Sunday service sermon.
During his Sunday service, Odumeje addressed the Israel and Gaza crisis, threatening to harm any Nigerian pastor he sees praying for Israel. Referred to as Liquid Metal, Odumeje warned of rendering any Nigerian clergyman praying for Israel deaf and dumb, asserting that such prayers are more urgently needed at home in Nigeria. He emphasized that Nigeria has more pressing problems to address than Israel.
Odumeje’s remarks came shortly after the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor E.A. Adeboye, held a prayer session for Israel, creating a noteworthy contrast in their perspectives.
