Man arrested by EFCC after paying N15m for fraudulent government job. Hassan Babangida has been detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on suspicion of criminal conspiracy, forgery, and employment fraud.

Hassan was detained in Kano after making fictitious claims to be a job agency.

The suspect said that he could get job candidates positions in several parastatals and federal ministries.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Wilson Uwujaren, the EFCC’s head of media, confirmed his detention.

Usman Rilwan, a candidate, claims that Hassan scammed him of N14,950,000 while pretending to offer him a paid position.

The money was given to the suspect as a “facilitation fee” to “process” the assignment, Rilwan told the anti-graft commission.

An appointment letter that Hassan reportedly sent to his victim was later shown to be a forgery.
