Man Faces Charges for Theft of N7 Million Car in Lagos
Ibrahim Damana was arraigned in an Ikeja High Court on Monday, where he faced charges of stealing a grey Lexus Rx350 valued at N7 million. Damana, whose address and occupation remain undisclosed, is accused of two counts related to conspiracy and armed robbery.
He entered a plea of not guilty to both charges. The Lagos State Prosecutor, Mr. Ola Azeez, informed the court that on July 17, 2021, Ibrahim, in collaboration with unidentified accomplices, conspired to carry out a robbery in the Berger area of the state. Armed with an AK-47 rifle, they allegedly robbed Osagie of a grey Lexus Rx350 worth N7 million, belonging to Ogunsina Adeola.
Subsequently, the prosecutor requested a trial date in light of the defendant’s plea, citing that the offenses contravened the provisions of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Justice Oyindamola Ogala, having approved the witness summons, adjourned the case to January 24, 2024, and January 31, 2024, for the commencement of the trial.
