Mudslide kills man in Jigawa. In the Taura Local Government Area of Jigawa State, a landslide claimed the life of Umar Sale, 28.

The event was confirmed by CSC Adamu Shehu, an NSCDC spokeswoman, to DAILY POST.

According to him, the incident occurred on Tuesday at around 1400 hours in Majia town, Taura LGA.

Shehu said that the deceased, a father of three, was buried alive after being buried alive while excavating sand from a ditch to repair his mud house that had been demolished by the torrential downpour.

Farmers in the neighborhood, he said, heard the victim’s cries for help and came to his aid. His body was later found and a doctor verified that he had passed away.

His body was given to his relatives to be buried.
