Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala suggests Nigeria will get Vaccines in January.

The former Minister of Finance, Professor Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has expressed optimism that Nigeria might get the now certified COVID-19 vaccine by the end of January 2021.

Professor Okonjo-Iweala while paying a courtesy call to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abuja, where she was received in audience by the Minister Geoffrey Onyema, says there is ongoing international mobilization for poorer countries and others in Africa.

She says available resources have been raised and there is hope that vaccines needed by frontline health workers and vulnerable target groups like older persons and those with underlying health conditions night begin arriving the country towards the end of January 2020.

The COVID-19 virus which took the world by storm, the early parts of this year is now in the second wave in most countries. The african continent seemed to have suffered the least in terms of infection rates but suffered deep economic implications due to the global lockdown.
