No resumption date has been announced – BUK debunks rumour
No resumption date has been announced – BUK debunks rumour. The administration of Bayero University, Kano (BUK) has refuted claims that the school has set a date for the start of academic activity.
BUK was shut down in accordance with the Academic Staff Union of Universities’ strike that began in February (ASUU).
In a statement on Monday, Lamara Garba, the institution’s deputy registrar for public affairs, urged students, parents, and the general public to reject rumors about the institution’s return date that were going throughout the state.
The rumor about the institution’s reactivation is maliciously false and untrue, according to Garba.
He made it clear that the general public, in particular schoolchildren and parents, should disregard this information.
Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke, president of ASUU, has expressed optimism that the strike will soon be called off. On Monday, when Femi Gbajabiamila, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, informed the union, Osodeke stated there was hope.
