The Katsina State Government has enforced a prohibition on all types of extensive nighttime gatherings, including religious, social, and other events, throughout the state.
The announcement was relayed by the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Malam Bala Salisu-Zango, in a statement provided to journalists on Saturday in Katsina.
He clarified that the ban encompasses large religious and social gatherings, with the exception of obligatory prayers. However, for such gatherings during daylight hours, permission must be sought from the Police Divisional Officer within the respective local government area.
Emphasizing the announcement’s alignment with public interest and safety, the commissioner stated that the ban was effective immediately. He urged the public to strictly adhere to the directives, warning that violators would face legal consequences.
