The police have deemed the Kuje killing report as inaccurate and deceptive.
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has refuted media reports claiming that 30 people were killed due to a landslide caused by mining activities in Kuje Area Council. They assert that no such incident occurred.
In a press statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Josephine Adeh, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command, led by Commissioner of Police CP Haruna Garba, has urged FCT residents to dismiss the circulating news alleging the death of approximately 30 individuals due to a mining-related landslide in Kuje Area Council. The statement emphasizes that no such incident occurred and warns against the dissemination of misleading information meant to incite fear and undermine the safety of the FCT.
CP Haruna Garba affirms that the FCT is the safest and most secure part of the country and calls upon those responsible for spreading such false information to cease their activities. Furthermore, the Commissioner encourages FCT residents to be patriotic and collaborate with the police to enhance service delivery.
