The Rivers police have refuted claims of the prime suspect’s arrest in the case of the slain DPO, asserting that the viral photo is fake.
The Rivers State Police Command has officially stated that they have not arrested Gift David, the sought-after leader of the cult gang responsible for the killing of SP Bako, the Ahoada Divisional Police Officer.
In the Ahoada East Local Government Area of the state, SP Angbasbim was tragically ambushed, captured, and decapitated by a gang led by David, as reported by Newsmen.
The command’s spokesperson, Grace Iringe-Koko, denied these allegations in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, responding to a circulating photo suggesting that 2 Baba had been arrested. In the photo, two suspects were pictured seated on the ground at a police station, surrounded by officers.
Iringe-Koko confirmed that the photo was indeed fake and did not originate from the command. She assured the public that updates would be provided once the culprits behind this heinous crime were apprehended.
“The photos circulating on social media suggesting that SP Angbasbim’s killers have been arrested are false. The public should disregard them as they have no connection to the command,” she emphasized.
Furthermore, she reiterated the police’s dedication to capturing all those involved in the gruesome murder of Angbasbim. Iringe-Koko encouraged members of the public to make use of the N100 million bounty placed on the gang leader by providing valuable information that could lead to his arrest, emphasizing the importance of reporting any suspicious activity with the phrase, “If you see something, say something.”
