“Tinubu Regards Wike as More Than an FCT Minister; He’s Also My Advisor”

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu declared on Thursday that Nyesom Wike, the former governor of Rivers state, serves not only as the FCT Minister but also as his advisor. Tinubu made this statement during a reception for a high-powered 62-member delegation from Rivers state at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

He acknowledged the concerns of Rivers State stakeholders regarding infrastructure development, particularly the deteriorated Elementary junction-Onne section of the East West Road connecting the Port Harcourt Refinery. In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu stated, “The Honourable Minister, Wike, is not just the Minister of FCT, he is also my adviser and an admirer of mine. He has hit the ground running and should be encouraged by the State.”

Offering advice to the younger generation, the President urged patience with the government’s processes, emphasizing his role as the country’s leader and chief advocate. He expressed a commitment to working diligently and prayed for divine guidance to meet the high expectations of Nigerians, concluding, “I pledge to work hard, and I pray to God to put me on the right path, not to disappoint Nigerians.”
