Tragic Fatality as Woman Attempting to Break Up Fight is Fatally Stabbed During Church’s Crusade

Tragedy unfolded in the Abaranje area of Ikotun, Lagos State, where 47-year-old Rachel Johnson lost her life while trying to intervene in a fight among church members. According to the Lagos State Police Command, Rachel’s husband, Okerube Johnson, reported the incident at Ikotun Police Station around 3 am on Saturday.

Okerube explained that his wife had attended a crusade, and during the event, a dispute arose among church members. Rachel stepped in to break up the fight, but tragically, one of the individuals involved stabbed her in the neck with a sharp object. She was swiftly taken to Igando General Hospital, where despite all efforts, she succumbed to her injuries and bled to death.

The police shared the account, stating, “Her body was deposited at Mainland General Hospital Mortuary, Yaba, for autopsy.” The Lagos State Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed that the suspect is still at large. Efforts are underway to apprehend the perpetrator responsible for this unfortunate incident.
