UCL After Barcelona and Inter’s draw, they are moving on to the Europa League because of Xavi’s mistakes.. Xavi Hernandez, the manager of Barcelona, attributed their 3-3 tie with Inter Milan to “our own faults.”
As his club prepares to be ousted in the group stages for the second consecutive season, Xavi also complained that the Champions League has been unfair to them this year.
Ousmane Dembele scored first, but the Serie A team took the lead thanks to goals from Nicolo Barella and Lautaro Martinez.
Barca’s Robert Lewandowski pulled them even, but Robin Gosens restored Inter’s lead.
In added time, Lewandowski drew even again, but it was too late for Xavi’s team.
If Inter wins their final two games against Viktoria Plzen and Bayern Munich, Barca will be eliminated from the Champions League and move into the Europa League.
“This year, the Champions League has been unkind to us.
“We lacked enough clinical precision against Bayern Munich. There were other circumstances in Milan last week, but [those refereeing decisions] don’t need to be discussed; tonight, it comes down to defensive errors.
“Our chances of success are now extremely slim. However bad the situation is, we won’t give up. We are no longer dependent on ourselves, and our mistakes are to blame, stated Xavi.
