Unveiling Michael Carrick’s upcoming employment after leaving Man United. Michael Carrick, a former assistant coach and player for Manchester United, is in position to take over as Middlesbrough’s manager.

After Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was fired and then replaced by Ralf Rangnick, Carrick served as caretaker manager at Old Trafford in 2021.

The 41-year-old achieved two victories and a tie while serving as the interim manager at Old Trafford, defeating Villarreal in the Champions League, Arsenal in the Premier League, and drew with Chelsea.

Middlesbrough reportedly spoke with the player about their open management position after Chris Wilder was fired, according to The Athletic.

Middlesbrough, who last competed in the Premier League in the 2016–17 campaign, has had a difficult start to the current campaign and is now ranked 21 in the second division.

Rangnick’s arrival caused Carrick to leave Manchester United, although he is currently “weighing up” a comeback to the game.
